‘A Safe Place for Ships’: Cork, Ireland, Europe and the Sea- UCC Maritime History Conference

It has been an eventful month for Rubicon in terms of speaking engagements, with staff members giving presentations in Scotland, the United States and Ireland. Our latest talk will largely concentrate on the work Rubicon carried out on the Napoleonic-era defences of Bere Island in west Co. Cork, and will form part of a Conference organised by the School of History in University College Cork. It is entitled A Safe Place for Ships’: Cork, Ireland, Europe and the Sea. There are some fascinating looking topics being discussed. The conference is free to all and runs on Friday 28th November and Saturday 29th November.
