Rubicon Photo of the Week: The Glamorous Life of An Archaeologist

This week’s photo of the week is hot of the press, having been taken just this afternoon on site in Co. Waterford. On off days between discovering Tutankhamun’s tomb and establishing first contact with crystal-skulled aliens, this is one of the more glamorous activities in the world of archaeology. It is one of the first stages following site discovery, as the team establish the extent of the site (in this case a burnt mound) and strip the area in preparation for excavation.
